Car Of The Day: 2010 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Sang Noir

Dedicated to the more elegant Bugatti Atlantique 57S from the 1930s, the Sang Noir’s standout feature is its all-black exterior with exposed carbon fiber sections. Its name Sang Noir translates to ‘Black Blood’ is a rather ominous name for a multi-million dollar supercar.

Derived from the previous Pur Sang edition, of which only five cars were built, the Sang Noir is an in-house creation aimed at exploring “darker shades and tonalities.” The result is this stunning jewel, unique even by Bugatti standards.

Bugatti produced only 12 Sang Noir-edition Veyrons, each equipped with a quad-turbocharged W-16 engine delivering 1,001 HP and 922 lb-ft of torque. Activating the Launch Control system in key-activated Top Speed Mode propels the car to 60 MPH in 2.48 seconds before reaching 253 MPH with a twin-clutch 7-speed gearbox powering all four wheels.
